Micro-Needling
What Is Micro-Needling?
Micro-needling, or collagen induction therapy (CIT), involves the use of a small hand-held device that contains tiny microneedles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create tiny micro-wounds, which create a channel to infuse peptides, powerful antioxidants, human growth factors, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This also triggers the body to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
Since the top layer of the skin remains intact, it can be repeated safely and is also suitable for regions where laser treatments and deep peels are not typically performed. It is minimally invasive, virtually painless, and requires little to no downtime.
What Does It Treat?
Micro-needling is a simple, fast method for safely treating:
- Fine lines
- Wrinkles
- Scars
- Hyperpigmentation
What Are the Expected Results?
Clinical studies have proven to increase serum absorption by as much as 1,000 times when combined with micro-needling. Studies have also shown that micro-needling treatments are more consistent in increasing skin thickness than other resurfacing techniques.
What Is Recommended?
Pair with topical peptides, powerful antioxidants, human growth factors, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for ultimate rejuvenation treatment. For optimal results, Facial Esthetique recommends a series of 3-6 treatments.
